Long Day’s Journey Into Night is probably tied with ‘Us’ for the best film of 2019 for me. An absolutely incredible film and even more so just incredible film making. The film plays like a cross between ‘Vertigo’ and ‘The Big Sleep’ if they were directed in a collaboration between Wong Kar-Wai and David Lynch. The film uses a fragmented narrative approach that’s initially confusing but pulls together to create a classic film noir narrative with a dreamlike logic. The film closes with one 56 minute one-take tracking shot that’s shot entirely in 3D and is one of the most incredible things I’ve seen on screen in recent years. The film also has an incredible score, one of my recent favs 👌

4.5 Not Too Much Guys out of 5
